1. There seems to be so much more to Corines' mothers death. Corines mother calls one of the people coming after here 'dark one in human skin,' who or what is this? Could this be related to the darkness in the woods that Corine feels?
2. What new powers has Corine received now? To what extent will they go?
3. Have you started to piece the puzzle together yet? What do you think is going on?

1. What were Chance and Jesse discussing while Corine off drinking her hell fire?2. Who is the man that her mom saw before her death?
3. Do we trust Shannon? Maybe she is working for the other side. But than wouldn't Jesse realize it?
4. Does Chance really want Corine or is it just because he can see how Jesse and Corine act with each other, that makes him want Corine more?
5. Did you choose yet? Jesse or Chance?
That voice she was hearing, do you think it's the man that her mom saw before her death? What connection is there?
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Chance and Jesse were discussing? I have a feeling it did have to do with Corine. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall.
Okay, I'll chat a little this morning, but then I have to get to work here. I have loads to do.
ReplyDeleteOh that darned voice! I don't know who it is. I'm kind of thinking it's friendly though. I know she doesn't really trust it, but I don't know why but I feel it is okay for Corine. Maybe it got mad at the town when Corines mother was attacked or something. But I think that darkness/voice is to help her. Strange I know. It had its chance to hurt her, and didn't - a few times. At one point when she was first there I wondered if this was her dad. But kind of throw that idea away quickly.
Chance and Jesse... I think they were making a deal to let the best man win. BUT, I have to say I feel awful for Jesse. He has to be able to feel Corine's feelings when she is with Chance and that can't feel good to him knowing how she feels. I think Chance has a better chance of winning Corine back than Jesse does.
But man o' man! These men! They are both amazing in their own way. And yet so close to the same. I can soooo see Corine having a hard time picking one. They are both so great!
Have I made a choice. Well, I keep going back to Chance. I can't tell you why. I think if she chooses Chance it will be because she knows he loves her and she still has such strong feelings for him. Jesse, there is always that thought in the back of you mind that he is only reacting to her feelings. What happens when those feelings start to fade, or will they fade some? I do think Jesse is starting to show he really does care for her more than the feelings he is picking up on.
I guess I would say Chance, but I do love Jesse too. So hard. I don't envy her at all, both are great men.

I'm thinking with Corine's feelings that maybe Jesse shouldn't be too worried. I'm getting a I want to be with you vibe, but I know I shouldn't be vibe from her when she is with Chance. I'm sure Jesse felt something when he took her hand and she felt all warm. I don't know maybe a part of me is hoping for Jesse to be the best man, haha.
But you're right. Could he be feeling her emotions and acting on them?
Shannon. I really believe she is going to be a good person. She is young so who knows what path she will go on as she learns more but I have faith, she'll stay on the good side.

ReplyDeleteOkay, Shannon. I LOVE Shannon as an addition here! Like I mentioned on our last chat, I think she will help Corine settle down and grow up some more. :) Not that Corine needs to grow up, but more settle down and take responsibilites in one place.
I think Shannon with these three would be a great team. I think she could have a nice sense of humor to mix in well with them. And seeing things through her eyes as a newbie, I love it.
When Corine lived the last moments of her mother, there was a comment of calling the dark one in human skin. What or who is this? I was thinking maybe that thing thats in the forest, but that doesn't match with it being nice to Corine. I am wondering if it is a dark occult here.
ReplyDeleteI have to say this... I can not predict where this story is going with the ghosts and demons. I'm not sure whos behind it at all. I can catch little things, but not the bigger picture. I really enjoy this especially with a story that keeps moving and keeps me going, guessing.

On page 119 There was a young girl that calls out asking if anyone is there. Who is this girl? Is it the one that was in the attic? I am curious about the whole ghost thing. Is it all fake or partly fake or what!?!
ReplyDeleteOh and we have the winter solstice, Dec. 21. Shannon made a point that there were a lot of accidents and deaths at that day. That kind of goes with the occult thing. Wonder what they are working towards.
ReplyDeleteAgustus seems to keep popping up every once in a while. Wonder if he is connected some how. Remember he is also suppose to be out of town and not here very often. Corine and Chance almost took his apartment to stay in. I am kind of curious if we will meet him.
ReplyDeleteOh, I almost forgot. I like how Ann added the little bit on Montoyga in to keep that fresh in our mind. I am wondering if that will be part of the next book and if Shannon will be in any danger. He is a very nasty man.

I know, I can't figure out where the story is going. Who is controlling the town? What does her mom have to do with all this?
That's a good question on the little girl. I'm going to have to look into that.

I know. I keep waiting for Montoyga too. But I like how Ann added that in to try to answer that question ~ when Corine talked to Chuch. But that possibility is still there and could be touched on now (I'm thinking not) but more likely in the future books.

Speaking of spirits. Do you think we could see Corine's mom make an appearance as a spirit or something? Like she saves Corine or something or gives Corine a message??
I don't know if we could see Corine's mom. Corine mentions as to why she never felt her mom around or even try to contact her because she commited suiside to save Corine. I think it was mentioned she when to hell. or somewhere close to it with the way she passed on.
ReplyDeleteBut being she gave herself to save another, is that suiside? I don't know. It would be interesting to see if anything comes up with it.
And I'm curious about her dad. He was said to just walk away and never be seen again. Could he have gotten lost in the woods like the other men? It seems that most of the people at least mentioned in the story thus far are men (or boys) that go into the woods and don't return. Makes me wonder if that person/thing in the words is really of female nature, taking all the men. Hmmm, that is a thought. I might have to think on that one.
Which means if it takes males. What about Jesse or Chance?

ReplyDeleteHow about Corines powers. They are really growing in this section. It seems that necklace really brought something out in her. Do you think it was the necklace or that she had it in her the whole time and getting to feel her mothers last moments helped bring that out further.

I know. And her reading the house! That was just crazy. And the whole writing of it was well done. I really felt for her and even for Jesse as he feels her feelings. He had to be really in some serious pain.
